Manteca Digester Improvements

Manteca Digester Improvements

Manteca Water Quality Control Facility Digester Improvements, Manteca, CA

As part of the City of Manteca’s overall expansion of the wastewater plant capacity from 7 million gallons per day to 20 million gallons per day and other improvements, the Manteca Water Quality Control Facility Digester improvements included construction of two new 65-foot diameter by 12-foot-deep digesters, a 6,500-square foot digester control building, underground pipelines, new paved driveways, and demolition and filling of existing drying beds. Other improvements included a flare tower and FOG (fats, oil, and grease), hydrogen sulfide, siloxane, and food processing facilities. The City has become one of the first municipalities in California to capture biogas generated at the facility, which generally is flared into the atmosphere, to fuel the City’s growing fleet of compressed natural gas vehicles, including garbage trucks.

BSK conducted the geotechnical investigation during the design process and provided materials testing services throughout construction of the project.

Recharge Fresno Project

Recharge Fresno Project

This is one of the largest public work projects City of Fresno has ever constructed with construction cost over $400 million dollars. BSK was involved in these projects for over 7 years, from design to construction.

Recharge Fresno Project Phases

The projects consisted of the Friant-Kern Canal Pipeline, a 4.5 mile long, 60-inch diameter water pipeline, which conveys surface water from the Friant-Kern Canal to the existing Northeast Surface Water Treatment Facility.

The second phase was the Kings River Pipeline where the pipeline is a 13-mile long, 72-inch diameter water pipeline. This section conveys surface water from the Kings River to the new Southeast Surface Water Treatment Facility.

The third phase was the Southeast Surface Water Treatment Facility. This facility treats over 54 million gallons per day of drinking water.

The fourth project was the Regional Transmissions Mains where the pipeline is a 13 miles 20-inch to 66-inch diameter pipe that conveys treated drinking water from the new Southeast Surface Water Treatment Facility to the existing smaller diameter mains.

The last project is the Recycled Water Transmissions Mains where the pipeline is a 20 miles pipeline that conveys recycled water from the Fresno-Clovis Regional Water Reclamation Facility into the City of Fresno for irrigation use and groundwater recharge.
