PFAS
Why test for PFAS? In the complex web of environmental concerns, one issue that has risen to the forefront is the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS. These “forever chemicals,” as they are commonly known, have quietly seeped into our surroundings and raised red flags about their potential impact on both the environment and human health. Water, the lifeblood of our planet, has become a carrier of PFAS contamination. These chemicals can seep into groundwater from industrial sites, landfills, and firefighting foam use. As a result, they find their way into drinking water sources. This increases the risk of exposing communities to their harmful effects.

The BSK Difference
BSK Associates is the premier analytical laboratory for PFAS analyses. Accurate water testing is essential when it comes to identifying PFAS contamination. BSK Associates, with its analytical prowess, stands at the forefront of providing accurate/defensible analyses quickly. Knowledge is power, and with our PFAS water testing you can make informed decisions about your water sources.
BSK Associates was one of the first labs to become certified for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances, (PFAS) testing in the state of California. As the leader in PFAS testing our technical expertise is unmatched. We are accredited by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP), for all PFAS compounds in drinking water, wastewater, biosolids, and soils by EPA’s 533, 537.1 version 2, and EPA 1633 methodologies in the States of California, Oregon, and Washington.
Our laboratory has performed PFAS analyses for well over 10 years. During that time, our laboratory has analyzed thousands of samples for Method EPA 537 version 2 while participating in EPA’s UCMR3 and UCMR 5 monitoring programs as well as thousands of drinking water samples by Method EPA 533.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in collaboration with the Department of Defense (DoD), most recently released EPA Method 1633, a validated approach for analyzing 40 PFAS compounds (see EPA 1633 below) in various environmental matrices. This method applies to non-potable water, soils, biosolids, and landfill leachate. Developed under rigorous quality control protocols, it aligns with EPA Clean Water Act guidelines.
BSK is also certified under CA ELAP for PFAS analysis by the DoD QSM 6.0 method in the following matrices: non-potable water, and hazardous waste for 42 PFAS (see EPA 1633 below).
Our experienced PFAS team is equipped with the latest technology to provide:
- Low-level detection with precision and accuracy.
- Efficient processing of hundreds of samples.
- Fast turnaround time with rush options available.
With redundancy in our sample preparation equipment and multiple high-sensitivity analytical instruments, BSK delivers timely and reliable results tailored to your project needs.
BSK’s commitment to excellence goes hand in hand with our investment in our new state-of-the-art laboratory. With our cutting-edge laboratory equipment, we deliver unparalleled accuracy, precision, reliability, detectability, and innovation in our services.
