National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP) and the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) Program
BSK supports safe drinking water in over 50 nontransient, non-community water systems (NTNCWSs), schools and day care facilities by providing the sampling, testing, and reporting needed to meet requirements under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), and the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) Programs. Our laboratories perform precise lead, copper, and water quality analyses as well as testing for other routine drinking water contaminants aligned with EPA and state sampling protocols, helping schools identify risks and maintain compliance.
Internship Program
BSK facilities work closely with local high school STEM programs, community colleges and universities to provide on-site learning opportunities for students interested in a career in environmental laboratories and the engineering field.
We provide integrated environmental, geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and special inspection services for K-12 schools, community colleges, and higher education campuses.
BSK has extensive experience supporting projects subject to the Division of the State Architect (DSA) and California Title 24 requirements, providing integrated geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and special inspection services for K-12 schools, community colleges, and other essential facilities throughout California. Our multidisciplinary teams support educational clients through the entire project lifecycle—from early environmental due diligence to geotechnical design and construction phase services—helping streamline delivery and reduce coordination risk.
Our teams are well-versed in DSA procedures, documentation, and construction oversight requirements, including compliance with CBC Chapter 17 and applicable Title 24 provisions governing structural safety, seismic performance, and quality assurance. We understand the unique requirements of educational facilities, including campus phasing, student safety, regulatory compliance, and construction within active learning environments.
BSK operates DSA-approved Laboratory Evaluation and Acceptance (LEA) facilities, including our Livermore laboratory (LEA No. 032), and routinely performs materials testing and special inspections in accordance with DSA protocols for school and state projects. Our professionals are experienced working with DSA inspectors, standard DSA forms (including Forms 103, 109, 291, and 293), and the DSA Box, and regularly coordinate with design teams, inspectors, and agencies to support timely approvals and successful closeout. This familiarity with DSA and Title 24 requirements allows BSK to provide dependable guidance from design through construction while maintaining regulatory compliance, documentation accuracy, and project continuity.
