Matt Cohen began his career as a geologist in 1980. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Geology form the University of Alberta, Canada and an Master of Business Administration in Finance and Natural Resources Management from the University of Toronto, Canada. Additionally, Mr. Cohen has taken dozens of continuing education classes in hazardous materials, geology, groundwater, environmental chemistry/engineering/law, management and leadership. He has been a volunteer in several professional and industry organizations directly related to his technical expertise.
Mr. Cohen’s experience includes having been a full-time faculty member in Geological Technology for nine years at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He taught courses in physical and contaminant hydrogeology, environmental assessment and remediation, groundwater modeling, MODFLOW and MT3D, and environmental geophysics. He was hired by the Natural Resources Conservation Board to provide expert advice at a public hearing on a confined feeding project. Mr. Cohen’s technical expertise includes environmental consulting, project management, site assessment, remediation, water resource and related services for upstream oil and gas, industrial, water, solid waste and mining projects.
